Katrin Hanusch is a German/British artist based in London, working across sculpture, installation, drawing and performance.

Her practice begins with materials, objects and situations that carry histories of use, production and abandonment. Through interference, experimentation and chance, she changes their conditions to discover what else they might become.
Hanusch deliberately brings opposing forces together—control and chance, attraction and repulsion, strength and fragility, the useful and the useless—and holds them in tension rather than resolving them. Her works make these contradictions tangible, creating situations in which something unexpected can emerge: something neither side could produce alone.
