Leaving Behind, 2019
The water disc gauges an uninterrupted thought, a meditation on loss. The making of it carried me through the day, from the morning till the evening when most of the work was done. I removed swamp and water plants with my hands, no tools involved. That way I made loss a physical experience and created a clearing in an old water reservoir that reflected the sun, the moon, the clouds and the sky in a historic mining site on Brow Head, West Cork, Ireland.
